'Dimitrovgrad' production site

In 2005, Kaolin AD started its activities in Dimitrovgrad. Several years later, the company produces limestone in three quarries and has four processing plants. Today, Kaolin AD is a key supplier of raw materials with a direct environmental effect.

Kaolin AD develops its capacity for extraction and processing of limestone, consistent with the outlook for energy sector development and growth potential in the production of electricity from power plants using coal.

The main output of limestone by Kaolin AD in Dimitrovgrad is used for purification of sulphur dioxide in the flue gases at power plants in Southern Bulgaria.

Kaolin AD helps to eliminate millions of tons of air emissions from hazardous gas and thereby implement its strategy for sustainable development - with products and solutions aimed at protecting the various components of the environment.

For the European Minerals Day 2011, t children from Dimitrovgrad will visit Kaolin AD limestone quarry of Kireshlika. Students will learn about the practices of extraction and environmental protection that are observed by the company.
