'Ignatievo' processing plant

In the southern parts of Varna region, 2. 5 km northeast of the village Pripek and 4. 5 km northwest of the city Ignatievo, in the village of Kalimantsi, Suvorovo Municipality, at an altitude of 150-200 m. , is situated the factory of Kaolin.

'Ignatievo' processing plant was put into operation in December 1979, as a deposit and installation for kieselguhr (diatomaceous earth) used for powdering of mineral fertilizers. Due to the lack of market demand in 1985 major renovation of the equipment were performed and the plant began producing carbonate fillers. Primary grind limestone, but in the past also bentonite, zeolite and talc-magnetite.

At present, 'Ignatievo' processing plant produces ground and crushed limestone products. Ground products are used as fillers in the production of polyethylene, rubber and paint, and crushed products - in the glass industry. For the purposes of the fodder industry, it is produced feeding material calcium carbonate, a product which is used for the production of feedingstuffs for all animals.

On the occasion of the European Mineras Day , Kaolin AD shall open its doors to the schoolchildren of Suvorovo and Aksakovo who will visit the nearby sand quarry Dabraino to, learn about the world of minerals and applications and the way of production.
