The status of wildlife in the world has deteriorated by 30% in the last 40 years and consumption of resources is much larger than the capacity of the planet. This shows a new report from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) - "Living Planet 2010".
With its rich ornithofauna, Bulgaria ranks second in Europe after Spain. Its territory represents only 1% of Europe territory. However in Bulgaria are found a total of 394 bird species, or 76% of the European ornithofauna, and another 23 species which are not included in the European list.
